About Postcode Facts

Postcode Facts is an independent website with free tools for people buying, renting or living in a home in the UK. It brings together what the official registers say about a postcode, and works out the fixed costs and rules that come with buying and renting.

Why it exists

The information is public, but it is spread across a dozen government sites, each covering one nation or one record. Most calculators also assume England. We wanted one place that explains each record in plain English, asks where the home is, and shows its working so you can check it.

Who is behind it

Details of the editor will be added here. [Placeholder: name, background and a link to a professional profile.]

We are looking for a qualified conveyancer (SRA or CLC regulated) or RICS chartered surveyor to review the tools. Until then each tool says that it has not yet had expert review. [Placeholder: reviewer name, registration number and profile link.]

How the site is funded

The site will be funded by advertising. Advertisers have no say over what we write or how the tools work. If we ever add affiliate links, we will label them next to the link.
